convenient location of hotel facilities; ambience; staff attitude in the leisure centre (Jules deserves a special mention);
We were told that at breakfast you could only have filter coffee - not latte or Capuchinno etc as "the machine is not switched on until later in the day" (same reason two days running by different members of staff) - yet walk over to the leisure centre and the machine is on all day, and you can have what you like when you like! we suspect that this was laziness of the staff serving breakfast in the dining room, as we were assured at the reception desk that this was not the case.
well kept gardens, excellent food, a relaxed atmosphere in the dining room and indeed the whole hotel
Perhaps the crows woke up a bit early (only joking)
Friendly staff and a comfortable "home from home". The historic building made a nice change from modern hotels
Fantastic location and gardens. Beautiful building and facilities. Good room in the main house. Staff friendly.
Restaurant food not in line with the cost. Service a bit hit and miss.
The period building and grounds.
We have stayed at far more comfortable hotels for less cost. Based on the room we had it does not deserve the recent increase in star rating.
On arrival, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent in the dining room. The room was very nice and the grounds at which the hotelwas set in were really lovely. Overall, a most enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
A minor complaint was that the towel rail in the bathroom was not quite hot enough for the time of year. It was spring and although it was sunny there was still a chill in the air!
Excellent menu, well executed by the chef.
The atmosphere, setting and history of the building combined to make a our stay a memorable one.
Maybe we are biased as we had an unexpected upgrade to a larger suite - but the hotel failed to disappoint in any category. The hotel is a genuine Tudor mansion as refurbished by a modern millionaire with not much taste or historic sensibility (a good thing ! - who would want to vacation in a museum ?). The comfortable and well appointed suite was furnished with a collection of antiques of various dates and quality - mostly Edwardian repro Jacobethan. Staff were unfailingly friendly and efficient. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Maybe not Michelin star - but certainly not Michelin star prices. Definitely recommend. Definitely going again. Possibly the first time I've approved of something that Margaret Thatcher also commends.
It is a lovely building and the staff could not have been more polite and attentive. Definately a find and somewhere I want to go back to
Hospitality was excellent, everything done in good taste, beds very comfortable, ample parking, nice gardens, pool and spa very good.
Full English Breakfast was nice, just about enough to eat, however it was too expensive considering most hotels through in a free one. Lunch and evening meals were very expensive too and the menu didn't change.
Seckford Hall is a magnificent building full of history. It is set in magnificent grounds and is the ideal short break venue.
Convenient for visiting east coast of suffolk and Woodbridge. Impressive appearance. Food very enjoyable. Waiting staff very attentive. Very relaxing and enjoyable weekend - even though raining!
Great place to stay -really relaxing will definitely be back
Old Worldy Plenty of Parking
Very poor Service in Rest. Not up to Silver Service standard.
